Gifts from Italy

These gifts are (almost) like a trip to Italy, and do we have ‘em in spades: You’ll find Italian cooking staples like olive oil and balsamic vinegar here, along with traditional foods like panettone and pasta. And to serve it all up? We’ve got beautiful dishes that are hand-painted with love near the Amalfi Coast. They’re perfect finds for anyone who feels inspired by the colorful houses of Cinque Terre—and that’s a lot of us, last time we checked.

Growing up in an Italian-American household, we always had panettone during the holidays, but I never liked it. Then I tasted Cova. Had this one been around, I would’ve single-handedly eaten the whole thing!

VIETRI

VIETRI

Vietri, Italy

It started back in 1983, when sisters Susan and Frances took a trip to Italy with their mother, Lee. They were enchanted by the colorful dinnerware at their hotel, so, naturally, they arranged a next-day meeting in Vietri sul Mare with the artisans who made it. Soon after, they teamed up with Italian artisans to create their very own dishes to share with the world (and, yes, named them after the town where it all began).

Talent Show

Vietri’s maestro artisans (aka they’ve got a high level of expertise, experience, and execution) are the heart of the company—kind, creative, and oh-so talented.

QB Cucina

QB Cucina

Emilia-Romagna, Italy

Founder Sarah Ubertaccio started q.b. cucina out of a love for Italian food—we can relate—and a desire to give home cooks the tools they need to make it themselves. What followed is a stunning collection of kitchen finds, including some of the prettiest pastry wheels and ravioli stamps we’ve met. Wondering about those letters q.b.? They’re short for quanto basta, a directive in many Italian recipes to add, say, salt “as much as you need.” (Sounds good to us.)

Urbani Truffles

Urbani Truffles

Italy

Urbani’s passion for truffles is well-woven into its history. It all started in Italy back in 1852, when Constantine Urbani began sending fresh truffles to France. Fast forward over 160 years and this family business is the world’s most esteemed distributor of Italian truffles, exporting their delicacies (which are gathered by a team of beloved truffle hunters) all over the world.
