OXO Glass Salad Spinner

Great product

Feels well made and handles its main job of spinning wet greens out really well. Knew that it being glass would make it heavier. It is heavier than expected and makes draining and dumping water unwieldy. But a plastic one would feel to flimsy so overall i am content.

The salad spinner makes crispy lettuce for our salads an easy task. The bowl can be used to serve the salad.

There was a little surprise with this. It is actually four pieces - the cover, the plastic spin tray, the glass bowl, and a clear plastic insert in the bottom of the bowl. That clear plastic insert is well designed - easy to remove and easy to clean (think clear dinner plate), but it has to be there for the spinner to work (and should be removed if serving salad in this).

The plunger on the top is big and easy to use. There is an optional use clip that holds the plunger down for storage. Not the easiest to use, but it works. And a push button brake to stop the spinning quickly. Other than the brake and storage clip, this works great for somebody with limited hand motion.

My husband hates plastic so this being partly glass makes him happy. Looks good, works well. We’re happy.

I have wanted a bigger spinner for a long time, but trying to avoid plastics. This is a great alternative and the bowl is dinner table ready!

Yup! The exact right tool for the job. Solid thick glass. Big-ass. Easy to use and clean, you just need a big drying rack / space.

I've been wanting to buy the OXO salad spinner for a while and then saw this on the Food52 site. It's perfect because I twice the functionality out of it with the glass salad bowl. Very happy with my purchase!
