Not every dish has a fairy-tale backstory, but this vintage one sure does. It was crafted in France’s Loire Valley from local grey clay, then salt-fired to create the rimmed oval beauty you see here. t’s been carefully restored to bring back its like-new shine. Now to bake all the casseroles and gratins.

Five generations later, the family was still handcrafting their iconic stoneware from local grey clay in the Loire Valley. They’ve since had to close up shop—but we’re sure glad we have their classic French kitchen salt-glazed pieces to remember them by.

large and in charge

I finally received the correct one, after 3 incorrect items sent! It's beautiful and I love it. I may even roast a chicken in it.

Did not receive correct item

I want the item I was promised. Instead of the beautiful oval dish, I received a tiny round dish. Please respond to the customer care email I sent, and send me the correct dish!!!!

Incorrect item, like the others

I also received the incorrect item (a small circular dish of 6.5 in. diameter and 1.25 in. high).

Vender needs some help

The vender twice sent me a 6.5" round pottery plate. I couldn't risk getting a third plate in the mail so I cancelled my order. Too bad. I was really looking forward to using the 10" oval rimmed Poterie Renault baker.
This is the first time I've had a bad experience with orders from Food 52.

DID NOT MEET THE DIMENSIONS LISTED.

THE OVAL BAKING DISHES WERE LISTED AS BEING 3 INCHES DEEP AND 10 INCHES IN DIAMETER. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE EQUIVALENT OF A NICE PIE PLATE. INSTEAD, THE TWO OVAL BAKING DISHES MAILED TO ME WERE NOT EVEN 7 INCHES IN DIAMETER AND BARELY 2 INCHES DEEP. THE DISHES WERE NOT OVAL BUT ROUND. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR SHIPPING/ORDERING PEOPLE?
